The Overwhelmingly Large Telescope

After sometime not blogging (a challenging time in various European projects) a great new project to start of with - thanks to the BBC for the link to the OverWhelmingly Large Telescope project (OWL) - what an excellent name - When built i guess they will have to start work on the ridiculously large telecope project or the infeasibly large telescope project :-).

But actually it looks like an exciting project - and good acronym competition for the Ontology Web Language (OWL).

OWL and OWL may be connected, Steve. One of my PhD students, Will Costello, has developed a dialect of XML for remote control of electron microscopes, drawing on a similar dialect used for control of telescopes.
